Summer Sampler 2008

July 04 2008

summer_2008_160.jpgHere at Canoe Music we’ve started a new tradition on July 4th to declare our own sort of independence; an independence from bad music! Our way of doing this is to celebrate the good music in the world and hopefully give a little bit back.

Each and every year the artists at Canoe Music will release a few new and previously unreleased songs on July 4th on the annual Canoe Music Summer Sampler. For 2008 we’re offering 6 all new songs from Adam and Darcie, Johan the Angel and Canoe.

Johan the Angel gives us a peek into their upcoming studio release entitled The General’s Son which is set to be released this winter. Adam and Darcie give us an alternate recording of “Take Them All Away” and an all-new song “Waiting.” Finally, Canoe also gives us a preview of their upcoming studio release entitled The Goldminer which will be released next spring.

Also of note is the lovely cover artwork by the amazing Elizabeth House.

Only $2.99, exclusively from Canoe Music!

We at Canoe Music are brimming with joy to announce the addition of Provo, Utah’s, Folk/Pop-duo, Adam and Darcie. We have long admired their work and are sure that you will quickly understand why.

Their debut album, which was released late last year, has had broad appeal and received high praise nationwide, including being featured on NPR’s Second Stage. With rich vocal harmonies, honest lyricism, lush orchestration, and unforgettable songwriting, Adam and Darcie are earning themselves a name amongst the finest of pop, folk, and independent music.

Johan the Angel | Yuletidings EP

If you’re anything like us, you can’t get enough of Christmas music. In fact, we may or may not have listened to a Hansen Christmas song in the past and cried. But this EP is different, much different. Johan the Angel’s Yuletidings EP redefines what Christmas music should be and we’re pretty sure we’ll be listening to it far into spring!

Johan the Angel have announced that they will start selling the EP starting December 12th, and if you so happen to be in the Provo area, stop by the Velour SHOW that night to celebrate the release and pick up the EP.

For those who live elsewhere, stop by our online SHOP on December 12th and get the CD and MP3s, or visit Johan’s MYSPACE to hear the songs.
